The Repair Process

repair process Step 1An estimate should be done prior to repairs to determine the approximate cost of the repair.  We offer this service at no cost.  We will honor all insurance estimates and will notify them if it is incomplete or if there is hidden damage present.

Because of our honesty, quality of work and customer satisfaction, we are a preferred shop for many of the major insurance companies.

repair process step 2It is important for the shop as well as the customer to know who is responsible for payment of repairs to your vehicle.  In the case of a supplement, (additional work needing to be done to your vehicle) approval is needed before work to repair your vehicle can be continued.

repair service step 3
  • All parts on the estimate will be ordered.  Your vehicle will go through a “tear down” or disassembly of the damaged parts.  Any additional damage found during this process will be noted and the paying party will be notified that there is a supplement.
  • If frame damage is present, your vehicle will go on the frame rack for repair.  We use a Genesis Computerized Laser Measuring System to ensure all structural repairs are done to correct specifications.  A final printout verifies that all of the frame and body points have been returned to the manufacturer’s original specs.
  • Body and metal repairs are made to your vehicle, as well as prep for paint to be done and parts are installed.
  • The next step is cut in, or painting of the internal and edge parts of your vehicle.  Any panels that need painted and replaced on your vehicle are painted at this time, too.  Sprayed panels must dry sufficiently (sometimes overnight) before the next step.
  • Reassembly.  All newly painted panels, remaining parts and items such as lights, molding, trim and glass are installed on your vehicle.
  • Once your vehicle is made whole again, any additional service work such as alignment, issues with dash indicator lights, pin striping, or tinting windows will be addressed.

repair process step 4We will test drive your vehicle to be sure all components of the repair were done properly.  Then, your vehicle goes in to detail to be washed and cleaned.

Final inspection is next which is when we do a Quality Inspection on your vehicle to be sure the repair has been completed correctly and to our highest standards.

repair process step 5When you arrive to pick up your vehicle, you will be given a copy of the repair order and a Limited Lifetime Warranty.  Otto Works Collision Center warranties all body repairs and paint for as long as you own your vehicle.

Any parts replaced carry a Manufacturer warranty, which is usually twelve (12) months or 12,000 miles. You will then pay any deductible to the body shop as well as any fees for additional services that were completed while your vehicle was in for repairs.
